I finally had some time to go through few poems which are all excellent. I just wonder, it is the Nepalese literature to write pessimistic stuffs only? I must admit I am not an expert in this field. I used to write few poems when I was bit younger, not anymore. I just could not help commenting on the fact that most of the articles I read are pessimistic. I do understand the feelings though. The feelings of uncertainty and anxiety are natural when you come to foreign place. That is why we need good company and good community.
This blog is also a good way of releasing our own emotions. I am delighted about the facts that there are so many regular contributions to the site. Well done to everyone!
I would just say, lets be optimistic about life. That is how we cope with things. Remember, every cloud has a silver lining!
Kush
You are right Kush dai, optimism should be the way of life. We should try to take everything in positive way.
ReplyDeleteBut it is the truth that pessimism is a form of emotion. Such emotions if stay longer in mind could harm the person's capability. So should be let drain away from the mind. Such emotions expressed in poetic form may sooth the persons heart and mind. So, lets accept every form of emotional writing in this forum keeping in mind that "OPTIMISM SHOULD BE THE WAY".
Thanks for your valuable suggestion for our blog. I hope writers would now be aware to contribute optimistic, positive and encouraging stuffs as well.
what kush dai have said is the truth and goal what everyone should follow ,but i want to keep my points as well...
ReplyDeleteYou come to an unknown country with lot of loans to pay and you get stranded in a place with no work and nothing. The money you brought is about to finish up and you remember of the high tuition fees you need to pay to your uni in a couple of months. Your parents have hope that you will pay off the loan and they expect a lot from you.Can you tell me dai who will have a optimistic feeling then? Even if you try to be optimistic you cant..
I have met lot of nepali students who look happy from outside but inside they are totally burnt up."santosh dai maile aba 20-25 din ma kaam payina bhane ma ta sadak ma aaunchu hola"" santosh mero laghi kaam khojideu na yaar" these are the words that I daily encounter nowadays. They were surely optimistic before they came here but when they tried everywhere and couldnt get any job and got lost, their optimism went off. Giving a platform to express their sorrow and pains will definitely ease up their body and soul. Sharing is the best way of reducing the trouble..that is what i believe.
Anyway Optimism should be the way.and thats it "Optimism should be the way". Thanks kush dai for viewing the blog and sharing your thoughts
Good comments , Navaraj and Santosh
ReplyDeleteI am not denying the facts that there are numerous hazards. What both of you have said are absolutely true. There are lots of new or old students, migrants who are facing a lot of trouble. And definitely it will be hard to be optimistic at that time.
To come to a strange country, amongst strange people, is very difficult. In addition, if you have to work and study, it is even harder.
I just want to make sure, that people are able to develop the coping mechanisms during these hard times. And one way is to be optimistic. That way, your mind thinks positively, and you tend to do the right things. I know it is not the solution to the physical problems, but being optimistic makes your mind stronger and lets you deal with issues better.
That is all I wanted to say.
This blog however has done excellent job of providing a venue to release all those emotions, which is better out than in.
Keep up the contributions guys.
Kush
I appreciate the latest intellectual discourse after Kush Dai's opinion regarding the literary creations in INLS Australia. This is what we want -- the intellectual discourse. We all are right from our points of views, but we take any piece of suggestions in a positive way. we discuss and season our thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, the literature is a mirror of our society. Our culture and society make greater impact on individual's lives and, in literature we express the same. Our thoughts and expressions are condidtioned by our understanding of the social realities we face and the language we learn. We just cant ignore that.
I have been reading INLS blog as its reader from very beginning of its formation and was realizing that the poems written in it reflected angry frustration of youth generation in modern life. It is common to modern youth. Mainly, because the aspirations and ambitions of modern men are not fulfilled. This is what they expressed in forms of literature. We will take Kush dai's suggestions postively. Furthermore, writers simply cant go beyond what is in their minds.
I also agree with most of the points you all have made. We should be positive in life and be optimistic in life as mentioned above. However,i would also like to point out that the poems or writings written here do not necessarily give true reflection of what everyone thinks or everyone is like. It could simply be the way they write. For example the writer could be writing in a pesimistic article but it does not necessarily mean he is pesimistic in real life. Some of the writings can be imaginary and may not relate to the individual who has writen it.
ReplyDeletecan I say something? when we are in nepal we want to do "whatever" (including legal or illegal) means to get Aussie visa (mind you everybody knows life is tough here. all of us have heard from seniors about kitchenhand jobs, late night works, lack of sleep etc), BUT! when we get here we start complaining. ok, there are some hardships, but whats life without ups and downs?
ReplyDeleteWhat Kush is saying is quite true. ok, we do have happy and sad moments in life, but why is it that only the sad makes up to the blog or poem. Why we do not have habits of expressing brighter sides as well. Why do we focus on not getting jobs and not being able to pay the fees? why can't we sometimes say "wow what a wonderful effort to convert this desert like place to sucn a beautiful city"!
It is not just emotions, its the matter of expressing them as well. A person who writes many pessimestic articles is probably indulging thinking in same side a bit too much. Remember a glass can be "half-full" or "half-empty", its our choice.
cheers
What a beautiful discussion we are having. Han't this blog been proved to be a common platform to communicate and put forward the views and ideas among us?
ReplyDeleteBut i feel sad when people forward their ideas without disclosing their identity.
All three anonymous, you dont need to hesitate to put you name in front of your comments. They are your personal opinion. Noone is going to be upset because you put your opinion in favour of or opposing somenones opinion. Take it easy friends.
Why are you guys afraid of coming at front??You give your comments and hide your name...Thats shit. If you can speak come in front no one is gonna tell you anything. Dont take it seriously but its really pathetic. Its your views and no one can blame you, I being a secretary of INLS Australia assure you that.I already know who are all the anonymous ones by your style of writing.HA!! HA!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat discussion guys!! I am glad I have been able to point out one aspect of being healthy.
ReplyDeleteTo be healthy you need to have physical, mental and social wellbeing. Physically you be fit by exercising and right diet. Mentally you develop good coping mechanisms. And socially you associate with right people to interact. Looks like this blog is helping to socialise and help you be healthy.
Let me not stop you from publishing any kind of articles. Keep going.
Last poem by Rajan is great. 'looks like he is in love'
Kush
When I was in year 12 in GBS(pokhara), our English teacher had given us a task to write a flash-back story. She said "Well, all 32 articles were good but I almost ran out of handkerchiefs while marking them".
ReplyDeleteThat tells something about the nature of articles most people had written!
dp
dp your story is the most funniest one, even it is short and posted as a comment.I couldnot stop laughing reading your comment.
ReplyDeleteWhy dont you share your similar memoir in writing.
I want to disclose my name as the first anonymous to make comment. Thanks a lot to Kush dai for sparking the opinions. I love this type of discussion. Thanks for Santosh Bhai. Now I feel I cant be anonymous anymore. When I write, I cant lie Santosh and Navraj bros. They quickly know from my language. Probably, now I have to take different approach to be anonymous. Thanks for everyone.
ReplyDelete2nd anonymous is me. i will always reveal myself from now on.
ReplyDeleteThird anonymous, isnt it you turn to come forward and reveal your identity.
ReplyDeletewho is that third anonymous???????????
ReplyDeletewho is this "anonymous", asking to revel the name of the earlier "anonymous"?
ReplyDeleteMy name is Anonymous Khatiwoda.... what is ur suva naam?
