No place like home……

Rajan Poudel

Struggling to make my living back home

I came to this country of unknown

Carrying hopes and dreams of my own

I thought life would be better here but I was wrong!

Now I have realized, this place is worse than hell

Reminds me of homeland, ever and ever again

No friends to share my sorrows and no one to have fun

Here in this rotten land my life has begun

I drain from work everyday and night

I see darkness in the foresight

I wonder where I have come

Now I understand that I was definitely wrong!

I miss my family and friends

I miss the celebrations and scenes

Villages, mountains and greens

Which, here are nowhere to be seen

That's it! I have had enough

It is time to make the decision

Leave this country and return to the nation

Where I want to lay my foundation…….

  2. Thankyou binaya bro,

Although it may seem different from outside but in the bottom of my heart i love my home land and i miss every bit of it. One day i want to go back and settle there. Through this poem i was trying to potray the feelings of nepali people who are forced to work in the desserts of countries like arab and qatar, where life is completely different to what they initially expect. Though it may not be as extreme in here but i am sure most of us, do share similar sentiments.

  3. Excellent work everyone! Great way to come together! Good to see young talents.
May be we should organise "Kabi Gosthi"..

One question, is it a trend to write pessimistic stuffs in Nepalese literature? I am sure optimism is the way to go.

Anyway, good work everyone. Sorry I have not had a chance to visit the site earlier.
